Our Wines
In 2011 our family suffered a great loss when our beloved son, Matthew, lost a vicious battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Leaving us at just 20 years old, Matthew is remembered for his athleticism, bravery, quick wit, and boisterous personality.
It is through the sorrow of losing our son
that the inspiration for Matthew’s Vineyard
was born. Planted at our home where Matthew
spent the last few years of his life, it has
been a true pleasure watching the vines
grow. Constantly evolving and changing
through the seasons, the vineyard is a
constant reminder of the miracle of life,
and the value that comes with love and loss.
One of Matthew’s last requests was to fund
blood cancer research efforts at Stanford
Hospital, where he received his treatment
and bonded with the nurses and doctors who
cared for him. Honoring his request,
proceeds from our vineyard go towards the
“Matthew Will Leukemia Research Fund”, and
is a fitting way to celebrate his life in a
very tangible and personal way.
Planted in 2013, the vineyard is only two
acres and is 60% Pinot Noir and 40%
Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir is made up of two
clones, 2a and 667. The Chardonnay is a
single clone, Wente 72.

Their property is a little slice of viticulture heaven, being ideally located in the popular Edna Valley, just a few miles from some of their favorite wineries. With rich soil, a great team, and a shared love for wine, the Will's knew that planting a vineyard on their property would be an endeavor worth taking. They have enjoyed each and every moment of the process, and they look forward to sharing Matthew's Vineyard with family, friends, and the community for many years to come.
